Great Mental Health Day

January 31st 2025 is Great Mental Health Day. Below we have some tips and tricks on how to boost your mental health and avoid personal and professional burnout.

Get regular exercise

Getting 30 minutes of exercise has lots of benefits. It can help improve your overall mood and reduce stress. Exercise can distract you from negative thoughts: plus, it gives you the opportunity to try new activities. Why not take part in a Yoga class or join a local sports team? What about running or cycling? Who knows, you might find a new hobby you really enjoy!

Make sleep a priority

Sleeping helps to repair and restore our brains, not just our bodies. Getting a good night sleep is as essential to our bodies as eating, drinking and breathing, and is vital for maintaining good mental and physical health. Most adults need 7 to 9 hours sleep, although some people may need as few as 6 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day. Its all about finding how much sleep your body needs each night to make sure you’re not running on empty.

Eat healthy and stay hydrated

Just like sleep and exercise, eating healthy and staying hydrated is important to boost our mental health. Eating healthy and drinking enough water helps to fuel our bodies and keep them running as they should. Research has shown a link between what we eat and how we feel; eating healthier foods help our brains function better and boost our moods. It’s also so important to stay hydrated as even mild dehydration can have a huge affect our mood, energy level and ability to concentrate.

Schedule in time for your hobbies

Scheduling in time to enjoy your hobbies, with the people you love, is essential to your mental health. It can be difficult to allot sufficient time to attending dance classes, taking trips with loved ones, or reading your favourite book, especially when also trying to balance work. Thats where AllCall come in. We can handle your calls whilst you look after your mental health.
